FILIPINO professional boxer Jeffrey Claro, who collapsed after a sparring session in Mandaluyong last Friday afternoon had passed away at the Ospital ng Maynila this Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
His remains now lie in state at the Veronica Memorial Chapel in Pasay City. It will be brought on Thursday to his province in Coron, Palawan.
The 20-year old Claro (1W-4L-0D) was part of the group that was found to have fake CT scan and was asked to submit a new CT Scan with plates included.
The license was never revoked but is just not allowed to have professional fights until he submits a new CT Scan.
He was scheduled to fight but was posttponed twice. First was for promoter Dante Almario’s promotion when he had three tooth extractions and the second time was that he had a UTI.
The boxer was due for first week November promotion that is why he started practicing.
Claro got his CT scan from Batangas but went to Olivarez to get another one which he then submitted to the GAB medical division.
Boxing supporter Jen Javella even brought Claro’s CT scan result from Olivarez to the Makati Medical Center Neuro doctor for double checking.
Claro, a southpaw, had finally tasted his first victory after four straight losses in his previous outing last May 26 via a unanimous decision against Oscar Lim at the Café Lupe in Barangay Mambugan, Antipolo City.
