Lightweight world champions Mikey Garcia and Robert Easter Jr are ready for an attractive unification match Saturday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, presented by Premier Boxing Champions and broadcast on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING (10 pm ET / 7 pm PT).
Both fighters overcame the official weigh in without problems. Garcia reported 135 pounds, while Easter Jr. weighed 134.5 pounds.
“This will be my first title unification fight. It means a lot to me to face another undefeated champion. This will help my legacy and my career. I am taking the right steps to move forward and consolidate my name forever,” said WBC champion Garcia.
For his part IBF champion Easter Jr. said: “A victory can bring a lot of attention to my career. It can help me get the recognition I deserve. This will be a great fight. The audience will see two warriors in the ring. “
