GARCIA VS. RUBA FOR WBC ABCO TITLE IN SEPT. 30


JOFFREY Garcia of the Philippines faces John Ruba of Indonesia for the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental super lightweight title on Sept. 30 at The Breeze in Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia.
Garcia is toting five wins with four knockouts against six losses and four draws while Ruba has 14 wins with seven knockouts against three losses and one draw.
Ruba, 24, has won his last six fights which started with a technical knockout win against Filipus Rangga in their battle for the vacant Indonesia Professional Boxing Commission super lightweight title last year.
Ruba has already beaten a Filipino pug Gabriel Royo (10-15-2) via a unanimous decision last October 2 in Jakarta. In his last fight, Ruba won by a UD over Hendy Luis last May 20.
Garcia, on the other hand, won his last two bouts. He scored a majority decision against Richard Morales during the Philippine Boxing Convention held May 12 in Davao City.
The 25-year old native from Albay then stopped former LuzProBA featherweight champion Danilo Pena by a 2nd round technical knockout last June 27 in Makati.
