Mexican Yazmin “Rusita” Rivas is banking on a brilliant, multi facet and polished fight of note, after receiving the confirmation she`s contesting for the Diamond Belt of the World Boxing Council, against Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano, on January 14 at the Barclays Center Of Brooklyn, New York.
Super bantamweights Serrano and Rivas will fight on the undercard of Swedish Badou Jack vs. British James DeGale, who`ll unify the WBC and IBF Super Middleweight crowns.
The news was announced by World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaimán, who said: “La Rusita disputes with Serrano the title Diamond, opening the American market to women’s boxing. It will be something that will initiate many opportunities for women who sacrifice and give so much, and deserve to receive the same treatment as men.”
