Gemino, Rosia win by TKOs

SOUTHPAW Renz “The Jaguar” Rosia of Cadiz City and Jhon “The Disaster” Gemino of Lipa City are the new Philippine champions.

The 33-year-old Rosia scored a 6th round technical knockout over defending champion Cris “The King” Paulino of Manila to win the Philippine super flyweight title last October 29 at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.

Gemino, 29, on the other hand, stopped Danny “Boy Tirador” Tampipi of Pagadian City in the 5th round by a technical knockout to win the vacant Philippine featherweight title.

Meanwhile, former interim World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council Continental Super Bantam champion Alvin Medura of Ipil scored a majority decision with former World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council Continental flyweight champion Ardin Diale of Malungon.

The other bouts, Peter Estiller stopped Jerry Cañada in the 2nd round; Argelou Samson retired Lowell Saguisa in the 3rd round; Rechel Calo beat Mark Jason Mira via a unanimous decision; Christian Gagarin knockout Anthony Morales in the 1st round; and Roland Toyogon beat Jerwin Meneses.
