The first of the World Boxing Super Series’ super middleweight semifinals appears to have a date and location, as George Groves vs. Chris Eubank Jr. will go down on February 17th at Manchester Arena.

Callum Smith vs. Jürgen Brähmer is still under construction.

Groves (27-3, 20 KO) appears to have righted the ship after a 2-3 run from 2013-2015, winning six straight. His streak includes wins over Martin Murray, Fedor Chudinov, and most recently Jamie Cox in the WBSS quarterfinals. As the BBC notes, this will be his first appearance at Manchester Arena since Carl Froch controversially TKO’d him in front of 20,000 screaming fans.

People weren’t sure what would come of Eubank’s (26-1, 20 KO) unexpected jump to the Golovkin-free waters of super middleweight, but it seems to be working out for him so far. His last two fights saw him handily outclass Arthur Abraham for the IBO title before knocking out Avni Yildrim in his own quarterfinal matchup.
