Former Philippine super bantamweight champion Mark Anthony “El Heneral” Geraldo and Jess Rhey “Wanman” Waminal are both going to Japan to fight on August 30 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
The 31-year-old Geraldo (38-10-3, 19KOs) will take on Ryuto Owan (8-1-0, 6KOs) of Japan while Waminal (14-5-1, 8KOs) will fight Ryo Nakai (4-1-1, 2KOs).
Geraldo had trained for three weeks at Waminal’s The Fight Studio by WLS in Cagayan de Oro City.
“I’m 122 pounds right now. I sparred with different guys,” said Geraldo.
Waminal, on the other hand, had Joseph “The Scorpion” Ambo and Ryan “The Crusher Dalmatian” Sermona as his sparring partners.
He is 130 pounds, just four pounds over the limit.
They will be accompanied by their manager-trainer Leonil Lazarito (Geraldo) and coach Jimmy Peleno (Waminal).
