Gennady Golovkin doesn’t want to waste time with Saul Canelo Alvarez and the judges when he gets the red-haired Golden boy fighter back inside the ring on September 15 in their long awaited rematch at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Golovkin plans on going back to his normal power game by throwing with full power and pressuring nonstop to force Canelo to exhaust himself and boil over from fatigue in the first quarter of the fight.

GGG wants his win to leave no doubts in the minds of the boxing fans and the judges in September. The best way for Triple G to achieve that goal is by making sure he knocks Canelo out.

GGG and his trainer Abel Sanchez have had a lot of time to study what they did wrong in the previous fight against Canelo (49-1-2, 34 Kos), and they’ve reached the conclusion that they didn’t put enough consistent pressure and failed to throw enough punches to tire out the Mexican star to get the stoppage. This time, Golovkin plans on improving in those areas to make sure that Canelo can’t take his needed rest breaks for him to catch his breath.

Golovkin says he wants to end the fight early by knocking Canelo out as fast as possible. Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs) doesn’t want the judges to ruin the fight like they did last year when they scored his first fight against Canelo a 12 round draw. Golovkin looked to be the better fighter by four to six rounds, but the judges scored it a draw. The results were loudly booed by the boxing fans at ringside.

“We have two different styles of boxing,” said Golovkin. “I have a completely different style of boxing. What I believe and hope that in this upcoming fight, we’ll come to this style of boxing which allows us to finish this fight early.”

Golovkin will be defending his IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight titles against Alvarez at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the same venue as the first fight. Having the fight take place at the same venue could mean that Golovkin will need a knockout to make sure he doesn’t wind up being thwarted by the scoring from the Nevada State Commission assigned judges. Golovkin didn’t agree that the scoring from the judges for his previous fight with Canelo. Golovkin, like a lot of boxing fans, saw it as a clear win for himself over Alvarez. Golovkin wants to be more aggressive in the second fight with the 27-year-old Canelo to end matters on his terms. Canelo seemed to be satisfied with getting a draw last time, which isn’t all that surprising because he looked like the loser in the fight. Canelo obviously knew that he didn’t do enough to deserve the win, because he was exhausted from round 3, and only able to fight hard for small stretches in the fight.
