The light heavyweight matchup between longtime contender Glover Teixeira and up-and-comer Ion Cutelaba is back on.
The duo were originally slated to fight at UFC Brooklyn on Jan. 19, but the bout was scrapped into the lead-up to the fight due to a Cutelaba injury.
Now Cutelaba is ready to go, and the fight has a new home: The duo will scrap at UFC Miami on April 27. MMA Fighting confirmed an initial report by Combate.
Teixeira (28-7), fighting out of Danbury, Conn., by way of Brazil, has been with the UFC since 2012. He’s alternated wins and losses in his past seven fights. His first-round submission victory over Cutelaba’s late replacement, Karl Roberson, at UFC Brooklyn marked his 24th career finish.
Cutelaba (14-3, 1 NC), a 25-year-old Moldovan, has won three of his last four fights, including two in a row. Like Teixeira, he’s a finisher, with all but one of his career wins coming inside the distance.
