With the rigors of strength training completed, the preparation of Román “Chocolatito” González in the camp of Santa Ana, Costa Rica, now focuses on improving some technical bits and bobs, such as defence and zipping up the speed, in order to conserve his WBC super flyweight Championship against Thai Srisaket Sor Rungvisai on March 18 in New York.
“Speed is key,” said Wilmer Hernandez, trainer of the four times champion, “We are also working on avoiding as many punches, as possible thus punishment. ” For now, weight is not the top priority because there is still time, but that does not mean that we are not taking care of food,” he said.
