Nicaraguan fighter Cristofer Gonzalez (25-3, 16 KOs) halted Mohammed Obbadi (13-1, 10 KO’s) after seven rounds, claiming the 112-pound World Boxing Council International title adding it to his Latino championship, in an entertaining fight at Palasport Maurizio Crisafulli, Pordenone, Italy.
Gonzalez won the first round and then warmed to his task. Mohammed did have his moments, counter attacking connecting with Cristofer’s face in the second round. But from the third round onwards, it was one way traffic.
The sixth and seventh proved difficult for Obbadi, who stayed on his stool, not coming out for the eighth.
