Former Puerto Rican world champion Miguel Cotto has said goodbye to his magnificent ring career.
Miguel fought his final contest last Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York, but was defeated by decision, in a close fight, by former US Olympian Sadam Ali.
Miguel Cotto debuted professionally in 2001. He has achieved world titles in four weight divisions – superlight, welterweight, super welterweight and middleweight. He is 36 years old and has his own Promotion Company, Miguel Cotto Promotions, which will surely keep him busily involved in boxing.
Miguel will undergo surgery this Wednesday to correct a torn left bicep, which he suffered during the fight against Ali.
The WBC wishes Miguel great success and deserved fulfillment in his future plans and ventures.
