GOTO TO FIGHT KIRTI FOR VACANT WBO ASIA PACIFIC FEMALE SUPER BANTAM TITLE OCT. 7

UNBEATEN Ayumi Goto of Japan is fighting fellow undefeated female boxer Kirti of India for the vcant WBO Asia Pacific super bantamweight female title on October 7 at the Hong Kong Convention Center in Hong Kong.
Goto, who is also the reigning Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) female super bantamweight title–holder has a record of seven straight wins with five knockouts.
The 29-year old Goto previously scored a fourth round technical knockout win against Sumanthar Baenkham last May 13 also in Hong Kong. Goto earlier captured the OPBF female super bantamweight crown by a unanimous decision against Filipina Kim Actub last March 15 at the Korakuen Hall in Japan.
Kirti, on the other hand, is toting three straight wins with two knockouts.
In her last fight, the 19-year old Indian stopped Pinki Mondal by a fourth round technical knockout win last May 21 at the Najafgarh Boxing Academy in New Delhi.
Her first two fights were victories against Anita Maurya (UD) and Varsha Rani (5th round knockout). As an amateur, Kirti was a bronze medalist in the 11th Senior Women Haryana State Boxing Championships in 2012. Kirti’s parents are Rajbir Singh and Sunil Devi.
The Goto-Kirti fight is in the undercard of the “Clash of Champions 3” featuring WBO International super flyweight championship fight between defending champion Rex “The Wonder Kid” Tso of Hong Kong and Japanese challenger Kohei Kono in the main event.
It is promoted by Jay Lau of DEF Promotions and Bob Arum of Top Rank with Alan Chau as the matchmaker.
