This morning at the traditional WBC weekly press conference, Mr Sandalio Sainz de la Maza, Director of Sports and Culture Department of the Metro, announced that this Sunday the fourth edition of the “José Sulaimán” Amateur Boxing Tournament, in the square facing the Mayor’s Office in Iztacalco, will conclude with a Grand Finale.
He said the fans will be pleasantly surprised and thrilled, because the quality of the finalists will exactingly test commitment, determination, talent and passion.
The final will begin at 11 sharp in the morning, where 26 finalists will give their all, to be crowned winners.
As always, all time GREAT former world champion Carlos Zarate, is responsible for coordinating the tournament, which aims not only to remember and pay tribute to the beloved Don José, but also to promote plus nurture amateur talent, by opening wide a window of opportunity to young people.
Furthermore, he explained that this year the tournament counts on 350 participants and as the qualifiers progressed, the fights were much more competitive.
