George Groves will get a fourth opportunity to become a world champion when he faces Fedor Chudinov for the WBA super middleweight title, with the date and venue in the United Kingdom to be determined.

Groves (25-3, 18 KO) has come up short in three other attempts at a 168-pound world title, losing twice to Carl Froch and once to Badou Jack in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Right now, he’s on a four-fight win streak, taking down Andrea di Luisa, David Brophy, Martin Murray, and Eduard Gutknecht, all in 2016.

The 29-year-old “Saint George” has been angling for a title fight, and so has Chudinov (14-1, 10 KO), who hasn’t fought since a highly controversial loss to Felix Sturm in February 2016.

Chudinov, 29, is the former WBA “world” super middleweight titleholder, beating Sturm for the vacant belt in 2015 in Germany, and successfully defending once at Wembley Arena against Frank Buglioni about four and a half months later. But the loss to Sturm was questionable at best, a downright robbery at worst, and now one has to wonder if ring rust will be a problem for him in his return against Groves.

It’s an intriguing style clash and should be a good fight, at the very least. We’ll have more details on exact date and whatnot when that’s available, but for now, what do you think of this one? Will Groves finally get over the hump, or will Chudinov be, on paper, at least, a two-time champ?
