Coach Lamont Lankford firmly believe that if you give a children the basics of boxing, you can change lives.
He and colleagues extend their services to 15 local schools, churches, group homes and of course, to any young person who wants to be a part of their gym. They know that leadership skills and self respect, are a primary part of the sport.. They founded Young Glovez Boxing Academy in Georgia, based on those principals.
They have just held an amateur tournament which was supported by the WBC, as well as several celebrity boxers, and it was a memorable success. The winners received WBC Medals and Diplomas. Below is a picture, along with their comment, on the first WBC Amateur Award they gave out. As you can see they were very proud of Haven…and so are we!
“Our first recipient of the WBC Amateur award on behalf of the WBC Cares program is Haven Brady from Albany Georgia with Roy Jones Jr. presenting it to him.
Young Glovez Boxing Academy!”
