Woz Promotions in Kyoto, Japan, presided by Shoji Omori, has surprisingly announced that the IBF 118-pound title bout between defending champ Lee Haskins and his local favorite IBF#14 Shohei Omori (no relation to the promoter despite their likeliness of the names) was pitifully cancelled because of Haskins’ leg injury, of which the British champion’s party informed the local promoter just yesterday. Therefore, the show on New Year’s Eve has become just a doubleheader featuring the IBF 122-pound titlist Jonathan Guzman versus Yukinori Oguni, and WBA flyweight champ Kazuto Ioka versus interim titlist Stamp Kiatniwat of Thailand. Omori is supposed to participate in the show even without the world championship on the line.
