Unified WBA/WBO/IBF heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua will be defending his titles against mandatory challenger Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev on Saturday, December 12 at the O2 Arena in London, England.
Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KO’s) regained his belts as well as his standing as Unified Heavyweight World Champion by claiming a unanimous decision victory over Mexican-American Andy Ruíz last December at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia.
The rumble will be ‘AJ’s first fight on British soil in more than 2 years since defending his crowns with a devastating 7th round knockout over Russian Alexander Povetkin at Wembley Stadium.
Joshua needs to look impressive against the veteran Pulev on December 12 so as to set up a huge blockbuster 2021 thriller showdown against the fellow Briton Tyson Fury.
Meanwhile, Kubrat Pulev (28-1, 14 KO’s), who is the IBF # 1 mandatory challenger, gets his 2nd shot at a world title after losing to legendary Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko 6 years ago.
That has been Pulev’s only loss of his 29-fight pro boxing career.
After that setback against Klitschko, Pulev has won 6 fights in a row, including victories over Derek Chisora and Hughie Fury.
The Joshua vs Pulev title fight is promoted by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing live worldwide on televised on DAZN.
