HENO-OGIDO REMATCH ON SEPT. 10 IN JAPAN

THE much-awaited rematch between Edward “El Heneral” Heno of the Philippines and Seita Ogido of Japan is set on September 10 at the University of the Ryukyus in Nakagami, Okinawa.
Heno (10-0-5, 4 KOs) and Ogido (11-2-3, 3 KOs) settled to a majority draw in their first meeting for the vacant OPBF light flyweight title held May 21 at the same venue. It was also promoted by former world champion-turned promoter Akinobu Hiranaka of Hiranaka Boxing School.
“We will have three new judges in this rematch,” said OPBF Secretary Juan Ramon Guanzon.
The first title fight ended up in a majority draw after two judges Yoshikazu Furuta of Japan and Mirza Chulam Murtadha bin Rahman of Malaysia both scored it 114-all while Filipino judge Lito delos Reyes gave it to Heno at 116-112.
Meanwhile, two other Filipinos Jason Egera (23-17-1) and Melmark Dignos (7-2-0) are also seeing action in the undercard.
Egera will face super featherweight Masatoshi Kotani (21-2-0) while Dignos takes on super bantamweight Morishisa Iju (11-2-0) both in 8-rounders.
The other bouts: Shuma Nakazato vs. Masaki Saito (8 rds); Yuko Henzan vs. Jutamas Jitpong (6 rds.); Kanta Yamashiro vs. Taiki Tahara (4 rds.); Ryosei Niguma vs. Taichi Hirata (4 rds.).
