Holly Holm releases statement after UFC 239 loss

“The Preacher’s Daughter” isn’t moping around following her latest loss.

Fresh off of a first-round knockout loss to bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes this past weekend at UFC 239Holly Holm shared an Instagram story in which she addressed the disappointing outcome with tongue firmly in cheek.

“I always say I get to live the life of a dream. I never actually dreamed of getting kicked in the face, that’s never part of my dream,” Holm said. “That’s like on the nightmare part, living a little nightmare, wake up every morning like, ‘Yup, that’s real, that just happened.’

“But I just want you guys to know I’m feeling good and I know one thing: I’m still pushing forward.”

The 37-year-old former UFC champion also sang along with a portion of the Bee Gees song Stayin’ Alive before concluding her statement with another joke.

“A lot of heartbreak right now, but I’m doing fine, I just want you guys to know I appreciate the love and support,” Holm said. “And if you would like to have free lip filler, just get kicked in the face.”

Following Holm’s loss to Nunes, UFC president Dana White suggested that Holm should at least consider retiring, but that does not appear to be in the cards for her just yet.
