The Pride of Armenia Azat Hovhannisyan, who’s Continental Americas World Boxing Council champion, challenges the WBC super bantamweight champion Rey Vargas (31-0, 22 KOs), on Saturday at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona.
Hovhannisyan (14-2, 11 KOs) commented about some aspects of the important fight he will have, commenting:
“Since I was a child in Armenia, I was trained to fight with an exciting style, I had over 200 amateur fights, and that gave me a lot of experience, I lost my professional debut, but I knew I was better than this defeat.
“Rey Vargas is a dangerous opponent. But apart from the long and tall of it, I don’t see anything else, I’ve fought with a lot of lofty opponents. So I know how they’ll fight, and I’ll be smarter to beat him. For me and my family, but also for my country. ”
