Just a week away from when the twain will meet…namely Marco “Captain” Huck Vs Mairis Briedis, for the WBC interim Cruiserweight Title, in Dortmund, Germany.
Huck has come through an intense training camp in Braunlage, Niedersachsen, with his new coach Oktay Urkal. The preparation with the former Olympic medalist was special because Huck suffered an injury in his last fight against Dmitro Kutcher in November of 2016. Now he’s completely recovered and determined to fulfill his green and gold dream..
“The pain was intense during the fight in November, but I never thought about giving up.” My former coach Herr Wegner reminded me that I had to be brave and win.
Thanks to that difficult victory, Marco Huck could be considered for the WBC Interim title. A victory would earn him an absolute WBC championship culmination opportunity against Tony Bellew.
