They are ranked #2 and #3, respectively, by the IBF
With Dillian Whyte chose to face Joseph Parker rather than face Kubrat Pulev in an eliminator, the IBF were forced to find “The Cobra” a new dance partner. They settled on #3 Jarrell Miller, who will join Pulev in a June 25th purse bid.
Miller (21-0, 18 KO) went to a decision for the first time in 10 fights this past April, taking a unanimous decision over Johann Duhaupas after weighing in at a career-high 304.25 pounds. He had previously stopped Fred Kassi, Gerald Washington, and Mariusz Wach.
Pulev (25-1, 13 KO) has not fought since extending his winning streak to five two Aprils ago with a win over Kevin Johnson. The best of those five was Dereck Chisora, though, so Miller’s his first real opponent since Wladimir Klitschko in 2014 and would be his best win since a 2013 decision over Tony Thompson.
A good matchup between a fighter looking to prove he belongs in the elite and one looking to prove he still belongs in the elite.
