DAVAO CITY – Former Philippine welterweight champion Jayar “Hitman” Inson (18W-3L-0D, 12KOs) of Davao City vowed to make a big comeback as he returns on Feb. 27 to fight Jose “The Bomber” Ocampo (20W-13L-1D, 13KOs) of Sarangani at the Bula Gym in Gen. Santos City.

The 30-year-old Inson has not been in action since 2020 after losing twice both in the US in 2019.

He first lost by a split decision to Jonathan Steele of US last Jan. 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Then Inson lost by a TKO to Sergey Lipinets of Russia for the vacant World Boxing Organization Inter-Continental welterweight title last July 20 at the MGM Grand in Grand Garden Arena.

“Medyo feeling down pero naka recover na man ko karon (It’s a bit feeling down but I’m recovering now)”, said Inson.

Inson has maintained five lbs. over his weight with a recent sparring partner Ernesto Cagampang.

“Porsigido naku modaug karon sa akung dula para makabawe na pod ko (I’m determined to win my game now so that I can win again), he said.

Ensign has no plans to knock out Ocampo.

“Wala ko nag habol ug knockout importante lang sa akua good akung perfomance sa dula. Kay murag dugay dugay na pod biya ko wala nakadula almost two years (I don’t have a plan and a knockout is just important for my good game performance. Because it seems like a long time ago I left without playing for almost two years), said Inson.
