Invicta Fighting Championship has officially announced the full card for its Jan. 13 event in Kansas City. Sarah Kaufman will be making her return to the promotion in the main event at the Scottish Rite Temple, taking on Pannie Kianzad.
Kaufman (18-4, 1 no-contest) fought once for the promotion in 2013, defeating Leslie Smith and signing with the UFC shortly after. The 32-year-old veteran only won once inside the Octagon, and now returns to the Invicta cage. In her last fight, last March in South Korea, Kaufman defeated Jessica Rose-Clark via decision.
Kianzad (8-2) signed with Invicta FC after winning the Cage Warriors bantamweight championship in 2014, and defeated Rose-Clark via decision in her promotional debut. “Banzai” lost her following fight to Tonya Evinger in 2015, and only returned to the sport in January 2017, losing to Raquel Paaluhi.
