With the WBC super flyweight Silver crown at stake Japan`s Kazuto Ioka (22-1-0, 13 KO’s) fights Puerto Rico`s McWilliams Arroyo (17-3-0, 14 KO’s), who comes from defeating in a great to Mexican Carlos Cuadras, collide this Saturday, September 8 at the Forum in Inglewood.
Both fighters chatted with the Los Angeles press in an open media training session. For McWilliams Arroyo this series has been very productive, and he will be making his third bout in Los Angeles.
“I feel comfortable here in Los Angeles. The fans have always welcomed me very well and I hope to give them another big fight this Saturday against a strong rival,” said Arroyo.
Ioka who had retired decided to return to the ring, after witnessing the Superfly2 card, saying: “When I was there for the Superfly 2 show in April, I felt like going back to the ring and I visualized myself on that big stage against class rivals. Arroyo is a good fighter and I have a lot of respect for him. It`ll be an interesting challenge this Saturday.
“It would be a great honor for me to seek a fourth world title and this fight against Arroyo is the first step towards that goal,” Ioka said.
