Former Japanese bantam titlist, currently IBF#8 junior feather Ryosuke Iwasa (22-2, 14 KOs), 123.25, proved too sharp and strong for IBF#10 feather Patomsith Pathompothong (15-6, 5 KOs), 123.5, finishing him at 2:17 of the third round on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan. Having been dispatched by Lee Haskins in quest of the vacant IBF interim 118-pound belt in UK, Iwasa moved up to the 122-pound category and thus scored three victories in a row. Iwasa floored the Thailander with a southpaw left in the second and deck him three more times in the fatal third. Patomsith previously came here only to lose a lopsided decision to elongated Hisashi Amagasa who had dropped Gillermo Rigondeaux here on New Year Eve in 2014, though eventually losing on a TKO after the eleventh session.
