UFC middleweight contender Ronaldo Souza does not care about who will be the champion, after Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero fight for the title again.
Jacare recently talked to Globo Esporte about the current title picture, and according to the Brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt, whoever wins between Whittaker and Romero will still be a good fight for him, as he has never lost to the same opponent twice and he has already fought them both.
“If doesn’t matter if I fight Yoel Romero or Robert Whittaker or any other athlete,” Jacare said. “I will win. Mousasi knocked me out before, but I was able to submit him when we met again. It won’t be different this time around. I never lose a rematch to the same fighter.”
As he prepares to take on Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 224 in Rio de Janeiro on May 12, a rematch for the middleweight title between champion Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero has been confirmed for UFC 225 in Chicago, on June 9.
Jacare Souza will try to put together a win streak when he faces Gastelum. He knocked out Derek Brunson in January, a win that came right after his TKO loss to Whittaker in April 2017.
