It will be an all-Welsh affair when Jack Marshman takes on John Phillips.
Officials announced Wednesday that the two middleweights will fight at the upcoming March 16 UFC card set to take place at The O2 Arena in London. This will be the first time in UFC history that two fighters from Wales have competed against one another inside the Octagon.
Marshman, a former Cage Warriors and BAMMA champion, has lost three of his last four fights and his UFC record currently sits at 2-3. In his last outing at UFC 230, Marshman lost a unanimous decision to Karl Roberson. He is 22-8 overall as a professional, with notable wins overRyan Janes, Magnus Cedenblad, and Che Mills.
Phillips (21-8) will be searching for his first UFC win. He is 0-2 since joining the promotion in March with back-to-back submission losses to Kevin Holland and Charles Byrd. Of Phillips’s 21 wins, 18 have come by way of knockout.
