After two years of boxing inactivity, great former World Boxing Council champion Jackie Nava returns to the ring on Saturday to face the Venezuelan power puncher Ana María “Manal” Lozano for the WBC Female international super bantamweight title.
The “Aztec Princess”, is already in the Mexico City and hungry to fight, arriving at Los Almendros restaurant in Polanco, announcing her bout, at The “Pablo Colín” Gymnasium of Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico.
Jackie has dedicated herself to her two daughters and political career as a Federal Deputy, confided the hankering is still there to win another green and gold belt: “I’m happy to be back, I know that time has passed and that motivates me to prove that I’m still an explosive fighter.
“I am grateful to Fernando Beltrán of Promociones Zanfer for his unconditional support and especially for the confidence he has always had. I also want to thank Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the WBC, for making me feel that this organization is and will be my Home.”
Jackie (32-4-3, 14 KO`s) will now have to overcome Ana Maria “Manal” Lozano (13-5-1, 10 KO`s) from Caracas, Venezuela. Sitting solemn as a column at the far end of the table, she was thankful for the opportunity of this high profile fight, motivated…and hoping to win.
