Mexican Andrés ‘Jaguar’ Gutiérrez (35-1-1, 25 KO’s) says he expects a hunting rather haunting night, when he fights Irishman Carl ‘Jackal’ Frampton (23-1, 14 KO’s) on July 29th, in an Eliminatory fight for the World Boxing Council featherweight title at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Frampton laces em up, following a loss against Leo Santa Cruz. A fight that cost him his undefeated record. “Jaguar”, who’s also tasted a single defeat, will have an enticing career opportunity against Frampton in a complicated fight. He stressed: “I am very happy for this chance. I know it will be difficult but it’s not impossible, and I know that I have the qualities to leave with my hand raised in victory. It’ll take my career to another level.”
The Irishman has had his brimming pride stung, which makes him doubly dangerous, but ‘Jaguar’ who debuted in the pro ranks at just sixteen, has ample experience to incorporate a smart, smarting winning strategy. This time, his camp is the Mexican Capitol. He’s preparing in the Barrera Gym of Mexico City, seeking to elevate his level with sparring, astutely coached and guided by Jorge Barrera.
