Submission Underground 6 has revealed a strong lineup to continue this promotions growth in the competitive grappling industry. Set for December 3 in Portland, Oregon; the brainchild of UFC and Bellator veteran Chael Sonnen features multiple mixed martial arts champions and big names from the grappling world.

The main event features two men that many MMA fans will recognize, but two athletes that have excelled in grappling events in the past. Former Strikeforce champion and 2006 ADCC Bronze medalist, Jake Shields, faces off against a 2015 ADCC Bronze medalist, Gilbert Burns. Both Burns and Shields have been very active in the competitive grappling space as of late and this is a highly anticipated matchup.

Shields has picked up key victories across promotions such as Polaris and Fight to Win Pro. This year he’s defeated the likes of Dillon Danis at Submission Underground 4, Daniel Strauss at Polaris 5, and Murilo Santana at Fight to Win Pro 51. He also competed at ADCC 2017 but did not advance deep into the tournament.

Burns may not have experienced the same type of recent success as Shields, but he’s always a threat in grappling as shown by his 2015 ADCC run. Even though he’s very active in MMA, he faced many of the top competitors in grappling including DJ Jackson, Garry Tonon, Vinicius Vieira and others.

The heavyweights are featured in the co-main event as former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia competes against multiple-time world champion, Fabiano “Pega Leve” Scherner. Sylvia isn’t known for his abilities on the mat but he comes with a wealth of experience into this match.

Another ADCC medalist is on the card as AJ Agazarm competes against Nathan Orchard. Orchard is coming off of a strong performance at the most recent Eddie Bravo Invitational and the Combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds and he’s facing a very experienced Agazarm who is coming off of his best performance at ADCC in September.

Vagner Rocha, who defeated Orchard in the finals at the CJJ Worlds, is set to face Jesse Taylor and David Mitchell is planned to compete against Anthony Smith. The entire event will be available for live streaming through FloGrappling.com.
