JAPAN’S SENA IRIE WINS OVER PHILIPPINES’ NESTHY PETECIO FOR GOLD AT OLYMPICS FIRST WOMEN’S FEATHER WEIGHT DIVISION.

All Judges saw the scorecards at Unanimous to give the Japanese Sena Irie her first gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics against Nesthy Petecio of the Philippines.

This gold medal bout in the fourth match between the pugilists as they saw action inside the ring earlier twice in 2019 and once in 2020 where Sena won two of these three fights against Petecio.

Sena, Petecio together with Irma Testa and Karriss Artingstall of Great Britain both for the Bronze Medals makes history as the first medallists in the Women’s Feather Weight Division.
