According to RingTV, sources say that Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (19-0-1, 17 KOs) will be making a jump from Showtime to HBO this fall when he takes on Mariusz Wach on the undercard of Daniel Jacobs vs. Luis Arias, November 11. The card is expected to take place at the at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York.
Miller, 29, is most recently coming off a stoppage win over Gerald Washington in late July, which was his most formidable opponent to date. Meanwhile his opponent Wach (33-2, 17 KOs) has won two straight fights against lesser opposition since getting stopped by Alexander Povetkin in late 2015.
And while Wach is certainly a respectable opponent for Miller, this fight is really perceived as Miller’s audition for HBO — who in light of Wladimir Klitschko’s recent retirement and Anthony Joshua’s alignment with Showtime — would like to find a marketable star in boxing’s glory division.
