JAZZA DICKENS TALKS LIFE STATESIDE, LATEST VICTORY AND PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

Former British Super Bantamweight Champion James ‘Jazza’ Dickens is enjoying life in Miami as he looks set to challenge for titles in the coming months.

The world title challenger has made a move stateside in the quest of titles, and looked sensational in his first outing across the Atlantic, gaining a first round KO in the Dominican Republic last Friday evening.

Jazza opened up about his victory on Friday evening and his experiences so far in Miami.

He said, “Life is brilliant in the USA, I’m really enjoying living in Miami and training here every day at the legendary 5th Street Gym.

“To be able to train in a place where Muhammad Ali trained and countless legends have trained in the past pushes you on to get more out of yourself every day and that’s what I’m managing to do at the moment.”

The Liverpool native continued, “I took a fight on a couple of days’ notice in the Dominican Republic and I felt good to be honest. I put together some of the things I had been working on in the gym and it paid off by getting a first round stoppage. I felt great.”

Dickens has mixed it with the best at Super Bantamweight division, having shared the ring with the sensational Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux. The former British Champion gave his take on what he wants going forward in his career.

He said, “I will genuinely fight everyone and I think I proved that against Rigondeaux. I come to the USA for opportunities and I am ready to take any that are presented to me.

“I’m still mandatory for the British title and Ash Lane has the Commonwealth title so I’d be happy to fight him. I just want titles and to make moves towards being a World Champion.

“Whatever comes my way whether that be in the UK or USA I will take with both hands and I’m confident I can go all the way to winning a World title.”
