She represents sporting values with the integrity of a person who transfers everything to every space in life. Jelena Mrdjenovich (40-10-2,19kos) will make a new defense of her World Boxing Association’s featherweight world title on Thursday, December 17, against Mexico’s Iranda Paola Torres (12-4-1,4kos) at Wild Card Boxing in Los Angeles, California, USA.

The Canadian boxer had been waiting for a year for a new proposal. And in line with what she represents as a world champion, Jelena has never stopped training. She won the title in March 2016 against Argentina’s Soledad Mathysse and since then all the defenses have been successful. A fighter who knows as much about victories as she does about losses, she is not afraid to fight against the best, as she has done since 2003 when she turned professional.

The challenger to the crown, Iranda Paola Torres, is a tough Mexican boxer who has fought against warriors like Heather Hardy and Cindy Serrano, against whom she fell but left a very good impression. Shorter than Mrdjenovich, younger and less experienced, Torres will seek to snatch the 126-pound AMB belt from the Canadian.
