Saul Rogers is without a dance partner for his promotional debut this Friday night at Bellator 200.
Bellator has confirmed that Canadian Jeremy Petley has pulled out of his bout with Rogers due to an undisclosed injury. Nolan King first reported the news of Petley’s withdrawal on May 17.
Officials were looking for a short-notice replacement for “The Hangman”, but MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani confirmed that Rogers was also removed from the card. Rogers also wrote in an Instagram story that he would no longer be fighting Friday.
The 28-year-old Englishman has gone 2-1 since reaching the finals of The Ultimate Fighter 22 in 2015. Rogers was unable to compete in the season finale after he failed to fill out his visa application correctly.
Speaking to MMA Fighting following his signing in late 2017, Rogers described his Bellator signing as a “life-changing deal”.
Petley has gone 2-0 under the Bellator banner thus far. He took a unanimous decision win overChase Morton in his debut at Bellator 179. Seven months later, he earned a split decision nod overLewis Monarch at Bellator 191.
