DAVAO CITY – Minimumweight Melvin “Gringo” Jerusalem of Bukidnon will fight against Jason Francisco of Kidapawan on Dec. 17 at the Sanman Gym in Gen. Santos City.
It will be the first time that Jerusalem will fight under the new manager Mhavic Kamiyama of ZIP with the management of JC Manangquil of Sanman Boxing Promotions.
The 26-year old Jerusalem (15W-2L-0D, 9KOs) only had one fight in 2019. He retired Reymark Taday of Cotabato in the 7th round last Aug. 17 at the Superdome in Ormoc City.
Jerasalem said he will fight for six rounds only.
“I’m fighting this time at 107 lbs.” he said.
Jerusalem had a total of 15 sparring sessions.
“Naka-sparring ko si Romarate at iba pang mga pro boxers at mayroon ding mga amateurs” (I sparring Romarate and other pro boxers and there are also amateurs) said Jerusalem.
He used to spar with Donnie Nietes, Melan Melindo, M Sabillo, and Rocky Fuentes when he was still with the ALA Stable.
“Dako ako pasalamat sir nga usa nako sa Sanman Promotion karon ug malipayon ko nga maka dula nakog balik” (I am very grateful sir that I am one of the Sanman Promotion today and I am happy to be able to play again) said Jerasalem.
He is also very thankful for his new manager Mhavic Kamiyama and JC Manangquil.
Francisco (5W-2L-0D, 1KO), on the other hand, beat Rocky Sardido of Davao del Sur by a unanimous decision last April 28, 2018, in Glan.
He, however, lost to Rene Mark Cuarto of Zamboanga by a TKO in the 5th round last Dec. 15, 2019, at Robinson’s Mall Atrium in Gen. Santos City
