Jesus Soto Karass vs Juan Carlos Abreu set for November 2

Jesus Soto Karass will look to snap a winless streak in November.

Welterweight veteran Jesus Soto Karass will return to action on Thursday, November 2, when he headlines a Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN card against Juan Carlos Abreu in a 10-round bout from Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Arizona.

Soto Karass (28-12-4, 18 KO) hasn’t actually won a fight since 2013, losing four of his last five, and drawing in the other bout. The losses have come to Keith Thurman, Devon Alexander, Yoshihiro Kamegai, and Mauricio Herrera, the last coming on August 4. Before that streak, he upset Andre Berto.

Abreu (19-3-1, 18 KO) is a Dominican slugger who has lost two of his last three, dropping fights against Jamal James and Alex Martin. His last fight was on June 18 in Chicago, where Martin won an eight round split decision.

“I have faced the best, I have beaten the best, and I am looking forward to adding Abreu to my list of victories,” Soto Karass said. “My goal is to get back in the mix of the welterweight title picture and a big win on November 2 will show the fans that I can beat anyone.”

“Of my 19 victories, I have knocked out 18 opponents and Soto Karass is next,” Abreu said. “He hasn’t won in five fights, and there’s no way he’s getting back on the winning track against me.”
