Former WBC featherweight champion, Jhonny Gonzalez defends his WBC Latino super featherweight title against Panamanian Irving Berry, this Saturday in Ciudad Juárez Chihuahua and after that he doesn`t care “Tuppence” about the purse if he can get a fight against Champion Miguel Berchelt!
With six consecutive victories, Jhonny recognizes that Irving is a dangerous southpaw and there can be no slip up, in his quest for a third world championship in different weight categories. In response to statements of WBC super featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt that he should have recovered from his hand injury and he ready to fight him in January, the normally placid and taciturn Jhonny, who`s normally ken on a good earner, quipped that he`d fight “Alacran” for ten pesos, stressing: “This is the World Title. No importance if its for ten pesos! I`m interested in the fight and the opportunity.
If it happens, and takes place in Mexico City, advisable for Jhonny to come in his car. The minimum one way trip on a Combi (minibus) is….ten pesos!
