Ji Yeon Kim ran out of time to beat the scale on Thursday.

The South Korean fighter came in 4.5 pounds over the flyweight limit at the official weigh-ins for her bout with Antonina Shevchenko at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale on Friday in Las Vegas. Kim, a former bantamweight who successfully made the flyweight mark in her last two outings, was stepping in as a short-notice replacement on less than one month’s notice for an injuredAshlee Evans-Smith.

Shevchenko, an accomplished kickboxer recently signed off of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, weighed in at 124.5 pounds.

The bout will proceed as scheduled and Kim will be fined 30 percent of her purse, MMA Fighting confirmed with sources. ESPN was first to report the news.

Featherweight Rick Glenn also came in heavy Thursday, tipping the scales at 148.5 pounds (2.5 over the limit) for his TUF 28 Finale preliminary bout with Kevin Aguilar, who weighed in at 144 pounds. Both Glenn and Aguilar are short-notice replacements for Gilbert Melendez and Arnold Allen, respectively. Like Kim, Glenn also accepted this booking on less than one month’s notice.

The Glenn-Aguilar bout will proceed as scheduled, with Glenn forfeiting 20 percent of his purse.
