Joe Smith Jr. Ready to Defend WBO-175 World Strap against Steve Geffrard Saturday on ESPN

WBO light heavyweight world champion Joe Smith Jr., will make his first defense against his compatriot Steve Geffrard Saturday, Jan 15, at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.

The fight, which is promoted by Top Rank, Queensberry Promotions and Star Boxing, will be live on ESPN +.

Smith was originally scheduled to defend against Britain’s Callum Johnson.

But last Thursday promoter Frank Warren, who handles Johnson, confirmed that his boxer needed to withdraw from the fight for testing positive for you know what.

So it will be Joe Smith Jr. vs Steve Geffrard for the WBO-175 world Strap this Saturday.
