Johan Álvarez from Guadalajara won his second professional victory in Tijuana, Baja California, by knocking out local Owen Rodríguez.
The nephew of Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez defeated Rodriguez with a tremendous left hook. Owen tried to get up but the Referee completed the count to declare a technical knockout in the first round.
Johansen Álvarez Suárez said he was grateful and very delighted, commenting on being committed to continuing to offer his best effort in the gym to continue improving.
“I am grateful to my work team (“ Chepo ”Reynoso and Marcelo Lopez), to my father (Gonzalo Alvarez), for their support and trust, to the promoter (Bx Romble Boxing) for giving me the opportunity to have action, cheered on by great fans in Tijuana, ”said the young boxer.
Another fighter Guadalajara who saw action was Óscar Hernández, who won delivering a knockout in the second round via a tremendous left hook, followed by a great right uppercut to defeat his rival Jesús Bryan Arredondo in the super bantamweight division.
