John Lineker vs. Marlon Vera booked for UFC Fight Night 119 in Brazil

John Lineker will look to get back on track against rising bantamweight Marlon Vera at UFC Fight Night 119 in his native Brazil next month.

A bantamweight bout between John Lineker and Marlon Vera is set for UFC Fight Night 119 in Brazil, Combate first reported Monday. BloodyElbow.com confirmed the news Monday evening. UFC officials have yet to announce the pairing.

Lineker (29-8) was riding a six-fight winning streak until he met former bantamweight championT.J. Dillashaw at UFC 207 last December. Lineker lost the pivotal fight by unanimous decision. Prior to that, also in 2016, “Hands of Stone” defeated Rob Font, Michael McDonald, and John Dodson.

This is unquestionably the biggest fight of Vera’s (12-3-1) career; “Chito,” a 24-year-old Ecuador native, has never fought a top 15 opponent. A competitor on The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 1 in 2014, Vera is riding a three-fight winning streak — which includes two stoppages — and is 4-2 in the UFC overall.

Lineker vs. Vera will likely take place on the FOX Sports 1 main card, though the bout order has yet to be finalized.

UFC Fight Night 119 takes place at Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Oct. 28. In the main event, former UFC titleholder Lyoto Machida returns to the cage against Derek Brunson
