JOHOR BAHRU MAYOR'S BOXING CUP SEPT. 23

THE Johor Bahru Mayor’s Boxing Cup 2017 is slated on September 23 at the JOTIC in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
It is presented by FH Promotions and sponsored by Johor Bahru Mayor Haji A. Rahim Haji Nin, Johor Bahru Tourism, X Fitness and Zaquin.
The main event will feature WBC Asian Boxing Council light heavyweight champion Muhamad Farkhan (4-0, 4 KOs) of Malaysia against another knockout artist Don Parueang (8-3-0, 8 KOs) of Thailand in 10 rounds.
Farkhan, who is still undefeated with four straight wins, all by knockouts, previously stopped Filipino fighter Marlon Alta via a 2nd round knockout last June 10 in General Santos City.
Parueang, on the other hand, won his last fight by a 3rd round technical knockout against Korrawit Chanchay last July 23 at the Meenayothin Camp in Bangkok.
Featured in the main supporting bout is an 8-rounder between middleweights Azizbek “AAA” Abdugofurov (7-0, 4 KOs) of Uzbekistan and Ibrahim Tamba (21-8-1, 14 KOs) of Tanzania.
Abdugofurov previously won a unanimous decision against Jeremiah Nasary last August 12 at the Shamelin Shopping Mall in Kuala Lumpur while Tamba also scored a UD win over Imani Daudi in his last fight held August 12 in Mayara Pack, Manzese.
