Anthony Smith could earn you a pretty penny if you have the guts to place a bet against Jon Jones. The two fighters are expected to headline UFC 235 for the light heavyweight championship at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on March 2.

The newly-crowned UFC light-heavyweight champion opened as a -1300 favorite against rumored title challenger Smith, the latter of whom opened as a +700 underdog through MMA Oddsbreaker’s lines.

For those of you who don’t how to gamble on fights, let’s break it down. -1300 means you would have to place a $1,300 bet on Jones just to win $100. A $100 bet on Smith, the underdog, would net you $700 profit.

Jones seems to be preparing for a quick turn around against Smith after vanquishing Alexander Gustafasson on Dec. 29 at UFC 232. He will need to be licensed by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) on January 29th, noting that Nevada would not license him after he recently tested positive for trace amounts of turinabol. While USADA didn’t consider it a violation, Nevada not licensing Jones led to UFC 232 moving to California.

UFC 235 is suddenly shaping up to be one of 2019’s biggest events. Jones vs. Smith reportedly headlines a stacked card boasting Tyron Woodley vs. Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title, Robbie Lawler vs. Ben Askren, and Jeremy Stephens vs. Zabit Magomedsharipov.
