Jon Jones responds to Daniel Cormier: ‘You know who you dream about at night’

A third fight between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier might be a ways off. But the rivalry is as hot as it ever was.

Jones took to Twitter on Monday to fire back at some Daniel Cormier comments over the weekend. Cormier told CBS Sports that he doesn’t want to engage with Jones any longer, because he “doesn’t have a platform.”

To that, Jones wrote: “That just sounds dumb.” The former UFC light heavyweight champion added: “Every win you get goes on my resume, You know who you dream about at night. I’m sure your wife knows too.”

Cormier, the current UFC light heavyweight champion, moves up to heavyweight for a true superfight against champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 on July 7 in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Jones is still sitting out a provisional suspension from USADA after testing positive for a steroid last year — in a drug test related to his UFC 214 fight with Cormier.

Jones beat Cormier in that bout by TKO, but the result was overturned by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) when the positive drug test was confirmed. Jones is still waiting to get his full sanction from USADA. Cormier has said that he believes Jones was on performance-enhancing drugs the two times they fought. Jones won the first meeting in 2015 by unanimous decision. Jones takes umbrage with those Cormier comments.
