Jones vs Sigmon, more: Boxing fight times and TV schedule for February 8-10

Roy Jones Jr’s alleged retirement fight is the highlight of a weekend gutted by injury.

Thursday, February 8

UFC Fight Pass, 8:30 pm ET, Roy Jones Jr vs Scott Sigmon. Here’s where it (supposedly) ends for Roy Jones Jr. From being the pound-for-pound king of the 1990s and a constant headliner on HBO and pay-per-view, to wrapping things up at age 49 on UFC Fight Pass. Sigmon is a guy who has served as an opponent for a few names in the past, and he’s been booked here to lose to Jones in Pensacola so the old guy can go out “on top.” Right now, the show has two more boxing matches and some MMA scheduled. Listen, Roy Jones was a huge reason I became a boxing fan in the first place, and UFC Fight Pass offers a 7-day free trial, so yes, we will be here to (hopefully) say goodbye. BLH will have live coverage.

Saturday, February 10

beIN Sports Español, 11:00 pm ET, Miguel Berchelt vs Maxwell Awuku. This is a pretty lousy stay-busy fight for Berchelt, and Awuku is the third opponent that’s been named. World titles get defended in lousy stay-busy fights all the time, but Berchelt is a fun fighter to watch and has been on HBO in recent outings, so this feels cheaper than normal, really.
