JONO CARROLL is within sight of a world title shot and is confident of outclassing final eliminator opponent Guillaume Frenois on December 8.

Dublin’s ‘King Kong’ (16-0-KO3) can win the right to challenge for the IBF world super-featherweight crown – currently held by Tevin Farmer – by overcoming France’s Frenois (46-1-KO12) in Sheffield.

Having halted city rival Declan Geraghty in Belfast last time out, Carroll feels claiming the top prize is simply part of his destiny.

Carroll said: “I’m very excited about this fight but I can’t say I’m surprised, because this is exactly where I need to be at this stage of my career.

“The details don’t really matter. I’m on a mission and as long as MTK Global has got my back, I was always going to get to those world titles.

“I don’t know much about Frenois, to be honest. To tell you the truth, I don’t really care. All I do is just work on being the best boxer I can be and the rest will take care of itself.

“Tevin Farmer is a little clown. I’m not even thinking about him. I’ve got a job to do on this next guy and then I’ll break up whoever is holding my belt when that time comes.”

Carroll vs. Frenois takes place on the undercard of Kell Brook vs. Michael Zerafa at Sheffield Arena – live on Sky Sports.
