Undefeated fighter Erickson “Hammer” Lubin fights Mexican Jorge Cota, on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING on CBS and presented by Premier Boxing Champions this Saturday, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The card is highlighted and headlighted by the welterweight unification between undefeated stars Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia.
Lubin and Cota will open the broadcast with an elimination fight for the WBC superwelter world championship, which is currently held by the undefeated champion Jermell Charlo.
Lubin (17-0, 12 KOs) against Cota (25-1, 22 KOs), is perhaps the toughest challenge of his thus far career.
Both perspired to inspire during a lively public training shakeout, and this is what they had to say:
ERICKSON LUBIN
“It feels so good to be here, the training camp was amazing, we had a lot of sparring and I made a lot of improvements from my last fight. I feel strong and I can`t wait until Saturday night. I know what I can do,so I’m going to go there confident and I will be dominant.”
JORGE COTA
“I know I`ve been a long time out of the ring, but I’ve been in the gym getting ready. I don`t think I am rusty. Once the fight starts you`ll see! I’m going to take it round by round and see what he brings to the ring. I’ll evaluate the situation and take it from there. I have a lot of motivation and opportunity is something that I will not let go of. I know I have a very tough opponent in front of me, but I am very strong.”
